Love for nature - more than organic agriculture

With our fruit trees on strong rootstocks we are not in competition with conventional fruit growing. It's much rather a clear commitment to the pleasure and taste of MeadowFruit. These trees have a dense, wide spread root system and grow in symbiosis with fungi which supply them with micronutrients. They are essential for the trees' complex metabolism and their resilience. Micronutrients are also stored in MeadowFruit and thus contribute to our health and wellbeing, too.

We are cultivating MeadowFruit by focussing on the resilience and tree health, much of our work is closely aligned to biodynamic principles. That way, we preserve our meadows as refuges for countless insects, birds and small animal species and plant diversity.

It is part of our philosophy to plant new trees on a continuous basis. Our grandfathers and great grandfathers planted trees on vigorous rootstock and took care of them - it's the harvest from these trees that allow us to produce our beverage specialities today. We, too, plant trees which will need 20 years to mature before the next generation can harvest unique MeadowFruit.

This type of sustainable agriculture will always be a promise to the next generation.

Sustainable and regenerative agriculture rely on the interaction of important individual measures.

  • Enhancing soil biology and initiating symbiotic relationships are preconditions for the resilience of trees
  • Strengthening plant health instead of using plant protection
  • Creation and preservation of landscape features such as flower strips, hedges and fallow areas that also serve as nature retreats
  • Bird protection and promotion of beneficial isects for biological stability
  • Closed-loop recycling - we use fruit pomace to produce high-quality Bokashi. We spread it together with wood chips as feed for soil microorganisms. This minimises the necessity to purchase biological fertilisers.
  • We continuously plant new MeadowFruit tree on strong rootstock.

Loving Life - our liquid MeadowFruit specialities

MeadowFruit is the basis for what we do and it is therefore at the heart of production. From the delivery of the raw fruit to ripening and processing to the composition and finally, filling, - every step in this process happens at our facility. Because of the way they are grown, the fruits are rich in acidity and tannins - a good & natural foundation for MeadowFruit specialities.

The giant trees are a central factor to the success of our MeadowFruit specialities, but so are the growers. We want people to once again be proud of the fruits of their labour, literally. Through what we do, we show them the quality of taste and aroma inherent in the fruit of heritage trees. This motivates us to strive for perfection every day.

Out of love for our children - knowledge for the future

Knowledge is the basis for a successful and sustainable business, for its development and a future worth living. We attempt to pass on some aspects of this knowledge to a wider public on guided tours and hope to create a better awarness and understanding of nature.

In close exchange with various associations and involvement in a number of projects, we aim to further the existing knowledge of MeadowFruit tree breeding and sustainable agriculture and put this knowledge into practice.
